Volume 1 Issue 3 December 2000

Holidays with the Fronhofer Tool staff and their families

Holiday Greetings from Fronhofer Tool

The holidays mean to me….

...a great opportunity to get together and reflect on all the happiness we know, because we have such caring, giving family and friends.

...a time of coming together with friends and family. A time of enjoying the warm feeling of being with the ones that I have spent time in my life with.

...Curling up next to the woodstove together with mugs of hot cider. Traveling all over the scenic North Country visiting family and friends.

...I enjoy the spirit of the holiday season…but most of all, the holiday season means family & tradition.

...reflecting on the past year and appreciating how fortunate we all are for the beauty and the pleasures of life.

...merry Christmas and happy New Years to my fellow workers.

All of Fronhofer Tool’s employees wish you and yours continued joy and success in the coming year.

Paul’s Perspective

In the first Fronhofer Tool Quarterly I promised that I’d keep the readers updated on future plans and endeavors here at Fronhofer Tool. Each year we try to identify areas of the business that need attention. We look at anything from safety to capital investments. One year ago we targeted material handling and the quality of the air in our shop as our priority areas to invest time and resources into. Although we have invested in many areas, our main goals were to be those two.

Our material handling requirements were partially met with the installation of a one hundred and twenty foot long bridge crane in the sawing area. The installation of two loading docks, one standard and the other self-leveling, also improve the speed and safety involved in loading and unloading trucks. We have already purchased another bridge crane that will run the entire two hundred and forty feet of the building. This should be installed soon.

As far as the quality of the air is concerned, we have invested in two areas. An exhaust fan has been installed to get welding fume out of the shop and another will be installed soon. We have purchased our first electric fork truck which will be used in place of propane equipment which we have used in the past. We feel we can shape the future of our company considerably better if we focus on our goals and stay on track. Goal setting prevents redundancy, which saves the company resources that can be used in other areas at appropriate times.

Happy holidays to all our readers. See you in 2001.
